This rare classic wrist watch for men's RAKETA/ROCKET/21 jewels 1960s at Petrodvorec watch factory.

HISTORY

It was founded in 1721 by Peter the Great, as the Peterhof Lapidary Works, to make hard stone carvings. The factory produced items made with precious stones for the tsar and his family. After the outbreak of the Patriotic War of 1812, what had become the Petrodvorets watch factory was reorganised to supply the Russian army with essential equipment, including weapons. The factory also provided the stones for Lenin’s Mausoleum, and the famous red stars which you can see on top of the towers of the Kremlin.
The factory began manufacturing watches in 1949 under the name Zvezda (star) and Pobeda (victory). In 1961, Yuri Gagarin made the first manned flight into outer space in the rocket Vostok 1 and the factory chose to commemorate this by renaming the brand Raketa
SEKONDA - well-known watch brand with a long history. Watches Sekonda were created in first Moscow Watch Factory Poliot in 1966 and were produced only for export to the UK. Later it was produced for Russian people too and soon it become very respectable and elite watches in Russian market. Sekonda watches were given as the highest reward for special achievements in various fields of industry, science, sports and culture.
